I was a Design Iintern at J.Crew in the Summer of 2019 at their office in New York City. I mostly worked with the Crewcuts team and the Print / Graphics / Color team assisting in all aspects of the design process. Both teams were small but mighty but this allowed me to have much more visibility to all members of the team and opportunities to produce work for the brand. In my time there I created the technical flats from the designer’s illustrations to send to the tech design team, designed embellishments/embroideries, created simple print repeats, girl’s graphics, and children’s accessories. Along with assisting with designs, I learned so much in my time there I’m really thankful for my team at J.Crew creating such an amazing experience. Below is a selection of designs I produced for J.Crew while I was an intern.
GIRL’S FLAMINGO SWIMSUIT - SPRING/SUMMER 20
The swimsuit to the left is the shining star project I did as an intern at J.Crew. I owned the whole design process from the swimsuit design all the way to the flamingo graphic. I learned so much in this process and gave me so much more confidence going into the apparel industry. I’m very thankful to the children’s swim designer for answering all my questions and guiding me along the way.

I designed this tossed star print that was used through several different categories and in different colorways. The above photos are a few products it was used for.

GIRL’S BEADED BAGS - SPRING/SUMMER 20
Below are 3 of the beaded bags I designed that made it to stores. This was a fun project and insightful to work on because it was my first time designing accessories. Outside of these bags I also assisted the Accessories Designer in socks, hats, and jewelry.
